CCRC COURTSIDE CHAT VOL IX: Victor

Name:  Victor Stefanescu AKA (Nickname) Vic, Vickie, Tori Age: 18 How long have you worked at CCRC? I’ve worked at CCRC for 4 years Favorite Thing to Eat at CCRC: Thats a tough question, I guess I would say I am a huge fan of the burgershire soup, it's my second favorite soup ever.  Best Part of Working at CCRC: Obviously, the coworkers! They are so nice, they have become my family throughout the last 4 years and I love them.  Worst Part of Working at CCRC:  So a few weeks ago when I was acid washing the bottom of the pool the pump I was using broke so then a cloud of nitric acid engulfed me and I was running away in shock. Thought this was the end of my days. But in the long run, I’m fine. *

Do you play tennis? Well, I played tennis for most of my life I’ve played at CCRC when I was really little and then once again when I was in middle and high school with CORE. Do you or did you play any other sports? I played basketball when I was little but got into it with the coach and quit because the coach wouldn’t give me any playing time.   Are you still in school? I just graduated from SLUH and now am attending Boston College and am undeclared major on the prelaw track, I am taking some math and psychology classes to see which one interests me more. Most amount of racquets you've strung in a day? 5 I think Arky tried to train me once but it ended up not going so well. Most amount of tickets you've entered after a shift: Well I am like the slowest ticket person, I would say maybe 60. I was considered B team tickets. (A team you know who you are)   What is it like to work for a family business? It's good, it's nice, it's cool. ** Weirdest thing that has ever happened to you working here? A trailer that I was pulling with the Kabota unhitched itself when I was banking a turn and it rolled down the hill and I had to lug it back up the hill and it was seriously the heaviest thing I've ever had to lift….. DO NOT tell Dan though about any of this. Favorite Member to see walk thru the doors: That's a tough question, I try not to interact with the members since I'm now one of the best cooks, obviously below Dan and Kenny, but I would say I'm top tier.

Tennis Pro or employee you most admire: Obvi this is a hard choice! There are so many good ones who helped make me who I am today. Troy and Mel incorporates meaningful lessons when I hit with them growing up which I will always be grateful for. Katie, Nat, Erin O, Trina, and Hannah Rez were always fill-in older sisters when I felt down. But probably one of my more meaningful friendships is with Caitlin. We’ve kind of matured together, here at the club. We go to dances together, have a lot of common friends, and even compete against each other academically occasionally. Thanks Cait!  What is something that you want members to know about you that they don’t? I didn’t quit this year, I’m just hiding out in the kitchen, I'm the man who is responsible for putting the club to sleep at night ;) and the person who gets blamed for theft.****

Which major championship would you rather win: If I won the US open that would be really cool, it would probably have the most prized money, and its the only one of the majors that’s in the U.S.  What song would you want played when you walk out onto the court or field? So I was head of Spirit at SLUH and was in charge of the music so I would have to say an extreme EDM song, like Animals by Martin Garrix or Levels by Avicii (RIP HIS SOUL) at 7 am to get me in my ZONE! What racquet do you play with? I play with a Wilson Blade but I know I could beat anyone with a wedge knife from the kitchen. What is your happiest memory at CCRC? Probably anytime there is a lot of extra food after a party and all the workers scurry to the window to claim that food like a pack of rats. These moments kind of embodied a poignant sense of community. *** *Note from Dani - he's totally fine. He only twitches a little bit.

**Note from Katie (the Captain) - deep down he knows he’s a BIG part of the family!!  ***Note from Dani- You may have noticed at the end of CCRC party where all of the sudden..you can't find ANY employees. That is because they have gone full Lord of the Flies in the kitchen to try to get the best leftovers. Crab rangoon goes really fast and it has gotten physical a few times. #winnerswin **** Note from Katie (the Captain) Vickie doesn’t like to be commended of how awesome he truly is here at the club. He is highly intelligent and will be so successful in his next chapter of life.
